Defrost the puff pastry according to the instructions on the package. Roll it out lightly to a thickness of about 3–4 mm using a handy rolling pin or a Krauff silicone rolling pin. Then cut the dough into triangles.

Place a piece of butter or other filling—such as chocolate, jam, cream cheese, or ham and cheese—on the wide edge of each triangle.

Carefully roll the triangles into rolls, forming croissants. Press the edges well so that the filling does not leak out during baking.

Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with beaten egg yolk to get a nice golden crust. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.

Enjoy the croissants while they're still warm with coffee or tea. And to cut the dough more easily, use a special Krauff knife, as in our recipe.
