Grandma's poppy seed pie recipe

Soft, fragrant dough with a delicate poppy seed filling - the very cake that takes you back to childhood. Ideal for family tea parties, warming with warmth and taste.

Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast, cover with cling film, and leave for 20 minutes.

Add the egg, flour and salt to the milk. Mix. Add the butter and knead the dough thoroughly.

Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with poppy seed filling. Form a roll.

Cut into pieces 4–5 cm wide, place in a mold.

Cover with a towel, leave at room temperature for 30 minutes. Brush with egg. Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
